htpasswd online generation tool-online htpasswd generator: What is the difference between encryption methods?
1, MD5: Use MD5 to encrypt the password. On Windows, Netware and TPF, this is the default encryption method.
2, crypt: Use crypt () to encrypt the password. This is the default on platforms other than Windows, Netware and TPF
Although it can be supported by htpasswd on all platforms, it cannot be supported by httpd servers on Windows, Netware and TPF
3,SHA: Use SHA to encrypt the password. It is designed to facilitate the transfer to or migration to Netscape using LDAP Directory Interchange Format (ldif)
4,plain: no encryption, use plain text password, although htpasswd can establish such a password on all platforms
But the httpd background only supports plain text passwords on Windows, Netware and TPF
